Don Rahn

Senior Vice President, Wealth & Trust Department Manager

Don is a Senior Vice President and Wealth & Trust Manager with First Dakota National Bank in the Sioux Falls market. He joined the First Dakota team in April 2025. He has over 30 years of experience in client relationships, investment management, and financial planning.

Since 2005, he has provided fiduciary services, including estate planning and trust administration. In 2010, he obtained the highly regarded professional designation of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ after several hours of study and passing the rigorous certification exam. He oversees and manages all aspects of First Dakota’s Wealth & Trust department. 

Don grew up in Cherokee, Iowa, and attended Iowa State University, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering. He made a career change from the engineering field into the financial service industry over 30 years ago.

Don has volunteered with numerous non-profit organizations over the years in the communities where he has lived. He currently serves in several liturgical ministries with St. Joseph Cathedral parish in Sioux Falls and is the Vice President of the McCrossan Boys Ranch Foundation Board of Trustees. He is also a member of the Sioux Falls Estate Planning Council and the South Dakota Investment Society. In his free time, Don enjoys running, hiking, golfing, and watching or attending various athletic events, especially those involving the Iowa State Cyclones. Don’s favorite activity is to spend quality time with his wife, two daughters, and their three grandchildren.
